Who We Are
Uccello Development is the culmination of three generations and over 70 years of home building experience. We have gone from building 900-square-foot Capes in the 1950s, to the mass-produced ranches and raised ranches of the '70s, to the funky contemporaries of the '80s. The evolution of our company has brought us to where we are today—building classically inspired homes with the modern interiors so many people desire in today's market.
Nicholas J. Uccello, President
Mr. Uccello has been the driving force behind creating the vision for what Uccello Development has become today. Uccello Development has been able to separate itself from its peers as a boutique luxury home builder through Nick’s keen sense of design and detail. Whether through the execution of an architect's design, the interpretation of an owner's wishes, or the subtle touches of detail that Nick adds to each home, each Uccello built home will stand out amongst its neighbors as something special.
Mr. Uccello is a third-generation builder and has been involved in the family construction business in some capacity since the age of 13. In 1999 Nick graduated from Central Connecticut State University as a member of two National Honor Societies, with a BA in Political Science and a minor in Marketing. He is a member of the Home Builders Association of Connecticut, and the Rocky Hill Chamber of Commerce.
During his free time Nick enjoys spending time with his family at the Connecticut shore and traveling with his wife Stacey, particularly to the historic locations of New England, that have inspired the vision for Uccello Development. Nick is a lifelong resident of Rocky Hill, Connecticut and currently resides with his wife Stacey and their children Benjamin and Sydney in a neighborhood developed by his grandfather, Philip Ireland Sr., before he was born.
Lauren M. Medina, Project Manager
Lauren Medina joined the Uccello Development team in the Fall of 2021, as Project Manager for Active Construction. With Lauren's background in design, she is the perfect fit for Uccello Development, as we are a very design oriented custom home builder. Lauren is also our organizational guru, keeper of information, schedules and everyone's to-do list. Lauren always remains optimistic and even on the most challenging days, she keeps everyone calm and construction carrying on.
Originally from Glastonbury, Connecticut, Lauren moved to New York City to attend college where she received her B.S. in Business & Marketing from the Jay and Patty Baker School at the Fashion Institute of Technology, and subsequently studied Interior Design at Parsons School of Design in NYC. After working in the fashion industry in Manhattan for a number of years, Lauren decided to return to Connecticut and pursue a career where she could put her interior design skills to good use.
Away from work, Lauren enjoys traveling, cooking, hiking with her cocker spaniel, Tucker, volunteering in church, and spending time with friends and family.
Michael A. DiMascio, Superintendent
Mike is our resident Jack of All Trades (and master of most). When there is a problem to be solved, a repair to be made, or some tiny detail that was overlooked, Mike is the man for the job. While some may see what Mike does for Uccello Development as monotonous or a chore, he takes pride in dialing in the little details of each Uccello Custom Home to ensure the complete satisfaction of our clients.
Michael DiMascio has always had a passion for building, whether building his own home, or fabricating one of a kind designs to make his work a step above all others. Even though construction is his second career, Micheal has been building and remodeling for over 27 years. He graduated from Central Connecticut State University in 1996 and then pursued a career as a Correctional Officer. Before working for Uccello Development he remodeled countless homes with ingenuity and artistry rarely seen in this day and age
In his free time, he is continuously updating and upgrading his own home, his vehicles, and helping friends and family with repairs at their homes. He also enjoys spending time with his wife and daughters camping along the east coast, and traveling abroad which further inspires him in the work he loves doing every day.
